that adult guests are responsible at all times for the safety and behavior of their minor
guests. When minors (18 and under) are not traveling with a relative, we strongly
recommend bringing an original signed letter from the absent parent/legal guardian
authorizing the minor to travel. This will expedite processing by the Department of
Homeland Security. Guests under the age of 21 staying at any hotel in conjunction
with Carnival’s Fly Aweigh program or vacation packages may be required to be
accompanied by a guest 21 years or older in the same room as per each hotel’s
policy. Permission for minor guests to fly unaccompanied is determined by the
airlines as per each airline’s rules. Guests should check with their scheduled airline
for eligibility. Carnival assumes no responsibility for unaccompanied guests under 21
years of age traveling by air. Carnival’s youth programs feature supervised activities
for kids and teens ages 2–17. Guests must be 18 or older to visit the onboard casino;
teens 12-17 years of age may use Spa Carnival and the fitness center if accompanied
by a parent or guardian.
MEDICAL SERVICES
Should you require medical attention while on board, the staff in our medical centers
is available to assist you 24 hours a day. Our shipboard medical centers meet or
exceed the Medical Facilities Guidelines established by the International Council of
Cruise Lines and the American College of Emergency Physicians. The members of
the medical staff have experience in the fields of Emergency Medicine and/or Family
Practice and are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Our physicians are
independent contractors and, as such, are entitled to render services at a customary
charge. The charge for their services and any other medical expenses will be applied
to your Sail & Sign account. Carnival strongly encourages the purchase of Carnival’s
Vacation Protection Plan, which also covers protection for medical expenses
incurred during your vacation. For a more complete description of the plan’s benefits,
terms, conditions and exclusions, please view Carnival’s Vacation Protection Plan at
.
PREGNANCY
While at sea or in port, the availability of medical care may be limited or delayed.
Prenatal and early infant care in particular may require specialized diagnostic
facilities and/or treatment that are not obtainable during the cruise on board the ship
or ashore in ports of call. Pregnant guests who are beyond 24 weeks of estimated
fetal age, and those who will enter the 24th week of estimated fetal gestational age at
any time during the cruise, will not be allowed to sail. Pregnant women who have not
entered the 24th week of estimated fetal gestational age, by the time of sailing, must
submit, prior to departure, a letter from their attending physician certifying that their
gestational status is in accordance with this policy, and that the expectant mother is
fit to sail. It is the guest’s responsibility to provide this pregnancy certification form
to her physician and to follow up with its timely completion and submittal to Carnival
no later than 14 days prior to sailing. Failure to submit the completed form will result
in denial of boarding and no compensation or refund will be provided. Because
the safety of the pregnant mother and unborn child is our number one concern,
Carnival will not accept any agreement or recommendation from the guest and/or her
physician that the policy be waived.
BAGGAGE LIABILITY
We highly recommend that all guests purchase a vacation protection policy covering
baggage, contents and accidents. For a complete description of Carnival’s Vacation
Protection Plan benefits, terms, conditions and exclusions, please contact your
Travel Professional or visit
. If
you choose not to purchase travel protection, Carnival’s liability for lost or damaged
baggage, contents and personal possessions is limited to a maximum of $50 per
bag with a maximum total limitation of $100 per stateroom regardless of the number
of bags. Carnival cannot accept liability for loss or theft of money, jewelry or other
valuables left in a stateroom or public areas on board. A safe is available in your
stateroom, as well as at the Information Desk, at no charge. We highly recommend
guests personally carry any valuables, medication, or breakable items on and off the
ship.
ADVANCED OR DELAYED SAILINGS
In the event of strikes, lockouts, riots, and stoppage of labor from whatever cause, or
for any other reason whatsoever, including inclement weather, the ship owner may
at any time cancel, advance or postpone any scheduled sailing and may, but is not
obliged to, substitute another vessel and shall not be liable for any loss to guests by
reason of such cancellation or substitution. Reservations are subject to change in the
event of a full-ship charter.
RESPONSIBILITY
Carnival neither controls nor operates, nor is responsible for, the actions of
independent contractors, such as airlines, railroad companies, ground transporters,
tour operators, and on board concessions (including but not limited to the gift
shops, spa, beauty salon, fitness center, entertainers, golf and art programs, and
video/snorkel concession). Carnival denies any responsibility or liability for late
arrival of your flight or train or for any illness, injury, damage, loss of cruise time or
other irregularities resulting therefrom. Carnival’s responsibility does not extend
beyond the vessel. You are responsible for arriving at the respective ports on time
for embarkation and for joining the vessel at its next port of call if, for any reason,
you miss a scheduled sailing. Carnival reserves the right to refuse or discontinue
passage to anyone when, in Carnival’s judgment, it would be considered a risk
to the guest’s own safety and well-being or the health, safety, wellbeing, comfort
and enjoyment of any other guest or crew member. Cruise passage is subject to
the terms and conditions shown on Carnival Cruise Line “Terms and Conditions of
Passage Contract Ticket,” including the procedure for the resolution of disputes,
which must take place in Miami-Dade County, Florida. (Copies of the ticket are
available upon request or in the “Guest Services” section of Carnival’s web site.) All
prices are quoted in U.S. dollars.
EMBARKATION
As boarding times and port embarkation processes, locations and directions vary
please check with your Travel Professional or
FAQ section for
complete details.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION
Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise.
Even though a guest has completed registration using Online Check-In, it is still the
responsibility of the guest to present the required travel documents at the time of
embarkation. Guests should check with their travel and/or government authority to
determine the travel documents necessary for each port of call. Any guest without
proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise
fare will be issued. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of proper
travel documentation.
CRUISE TRAVEL - U.S. CITIZENS
Carnival highly recommends all guests travel with a passport. Although a passport
is not required for U.S. citizens taking cruises that begin and end in the same or
a different U.S. port, travelling with a passport may help to expedite your CBP
clearance upon return to the U.S. Additionally, passports are required in the event
you need to fly from the U.S. to a foreign port should you miss your scheduled port of
embarkation, or need to fly back to the U.S. for emergency reasons.
The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) allows U.S. citizens (including
children) sailing on cruises that begin and end in the same U.S. port to travel
with one of the WHTI compliant documents, listed below. Additionally, the same
document requirements apply when taking a cruise that begins and ends in a
different U.S. port.
• Valid U.S. Passport
• Passport Card
• Original or suitable quality copy of a Birth Certificate (Issued by a government
agency: state/county/city) and a government issued photo ID if 16 years of age
and older.
• Original Certificate of Naturalization
• Enhanced Tribal Card
• A Consular Report of Birth Abroad
• Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL) – only acceptable at land and sea ports of
entry. It cannot be used for air travel outside the U.S. The word ‘Enhanced’ must
appear on the driver’s license. The following five States currently issue an EDL:
Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont and Washington.
Copies of U.S. passports and naturalization papers, hospital and baptismal
certificates are not WHTI compliant documents, therefore, are NOT acceptable. Birth
certificates from Puerto Rico issued prior to July 1, 2010 are not valid forms of proof
of citizenship that is accepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Guests from
Puerto Rico either need to present a WHTI-compliant document or a government-
issued photo identification with a validated birth certificate issued after July 1, 2010.
*If you need to obtain a passport quickly, Carnival recommends that you contact
VisaCentral at
or by phone: 1-866-788-1100. Callers
should mention that they are sailing on Carnival to receive discounted service fees.

In addition to proof of citizenship, a valid, unexpired government-issued photo I.D is
required of all guests 16 years of age and older. The following are acceptable:

U.S. ALIEN RESIDENTS AND NON-U.S. CITIZENS

passport (depending on itinerary) to travel on all Carnival cruises. Guest must check
with their consulate, travel agent or appropriate government authority to determine
if their nationality requires they also bring a passport along with their Alien Resident
Card.
Non-U.S. citizens require a valid machine readable passport and a valid, unexpired
U.S. Multiple entry visa, if applicable, to travel on all Carnival cruises. Guests
are advised to check with their consulate, travel agent or appropriate government
authority to determine the necessary documents. Non-U.S. citizens that are eligible
to apply for admission under the Visa Waiver Pilot Program, must still have a valid
unexpired passport. U.S. State Department regulations require all guests traveling
from visa-waiver countries be in possession of a machine-readable passport that
includes a biometric identifier - e.g., embedded digital photograph. Otherwise,
guests will be required to obtain a U.S. Multiple entry visa. Guests without proper
identification may be refused boarding or entry into the United States.
On occasion, non-U.S. citizens and U.S. Alien Residents may be asked to surrender
their passport and/or Alien Resident Card at time of embarkation. These documents
will be returned upon completion of the Immigration inspection at the time of
debarkation.
All Guests Traveling to Canada
U.S. Citizens require a valid passport or WHTI compliant documents. Certain foreign
nationalities will require a visa for sailings calling on Canada, in additional to other
ports of call. This visa must be obtained prior to your cruise and will be checked at
