So, where will you find that perfect piazza, that little
spot of people-watching perfection, that cosy taverna
for an intimate dinner? Perhaps our destination guides
will give you food for thought!
Rome, Italy (Tours from
Civitavecchia)
According to legend, if you throw a coin in the Trevi
Fountain you’re guaranteed to return. We think you’ll
be searching for reasons to return as it is, but when in
Rome; it’s probably worth parting with an extra Euro or
two, just to be sure. And don’t forget to make a wish!
With around 3,000 years of storied history behind
it, Rome certainly lives up to its evocative title of the
Eternal City, and what remains of its ancient civilisation
is a wonder to behold, nowhere more so than the awe-
inspiring feat of engineering that is the Colosseum.
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Sailing into the beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik is
one of the great Mediterranean cruising experiences.
The spectacular Old Town, with its sheltered harbour,
towering ramparts and red-roofed buildings may
appear familiar to fans of the epic fantasy series Game
of Thrones, as it doubles as the city of King’s Landing.
Happily, modern day Dubrovnik is far less cutthroat
than its on screen alter-ego, and even if you’ve never
seen the show, sights such as the ornate sixteen-
sided Onofrio’s Fountain and 14th century Franciscan
Monastery make a suitably cinematic backdrop to
this magnificent city. When you’ve had your fill of
sightseeing, you’ll find numerous restaurants tucked
away on Dubrovnik’s narrow side streets, with delicious
fresh seafood a speciality.
More incredible destinations
than you can shake your gelato at!
Not that we’d condone shaking your gelato of course. We think
it’s far better enjoyed from a shady spot in a sun-dappled piazza
whilst indulging in a little of that perfect Mediterranean pastime;
people-watching! Well, when in Rome...or Barcelona, or Venice, or
Dubrovnik. You see, with P&O Cruises you could visit all of the above
on one holiday!
