Delays
Delays to ships and flights, whilst rare, do
occasionally occur. In such situations P&O Cruises,
in liaison with its supplier of services where
appropriate will ensure your comfort during the
course of any such delay. Depending on the
particular circumstances, refreshments, meals and
accommodation may be provided as appropriate,
subject always to the facilities and services locally
available. P&O Cruises aim will always be to
minimise the inconvenience of any delays.
Dining on board
On board each P&O Cruises ship you’ll find a
great choice of restaurants.
Main restaurants
Here you can enjoy breakfast, three course
lunches, afternoon tea and five course evening
meals, all served by our expert waiters. All meals
in the main restaurants are included in the price
of your holiday.
Buffets
Our buffets offer dining from early morning
to late evening and are included in the price
of your holiday. Our buffets are large spaces
which offer a range of hot and cold options for
breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and late
night snacks – you’ll even find theme nights
where we showcase cuisine from selected
countries and continents.
Daytime deck eateries
As well as the buffets, main restaurants, and
cafés which are available on all ships; Arcadia,
Aurora, Azura, Britannia, Oceana, Oriana and
Ventura offer deck grills and/or pizzerias where
you can take away some delicious, cooked to
order foods. These are included in the price of
your holiday.
Select Dining
All of our ships offer smaller specialty restaurants
where a modest cover charge applies, typically
ranging from £5 to £30 per person depending
on the restaurant. Cover charges can be paid
for in advance through our Customer Contact
Centre by calling 0843 374 0111, or book your
table once you get on board.
Tables in certain Select Dining venues can be
pre-purchased approximately 17 weeks before
you travel, through your Cruise Personaliser. You
can purchase a table in the restaurant of your
choice on a day and at a time that suits you! You
can also peruse our sample menus, giving you a
taste of what you can expect on board.
Room Service
You’ll find a fantastic hot and cold room service
menu, available from early morning to late evening
(cold menu only on Oriana). Most dishes are
included in the price of your holiday (we charge a
small supplement for a few selected items).
Discounts
Additional occupancy – third or
fourth adult
A number of cabins contain extra beds and if
three or four passengers book as a party and
share one of these cabins, then you can save
money. In twin cabins these extra beds are upper
pullman berths or sofa beds. You’ll find further
details in the deck plans. Symbols on the deck
plans show the grades at which some cabins
have extra beds. The first two adults pay the
adult price and for the third and fourth person
in an extra bed you deduct a percentage from
the price for the grade concerned. Reduction
percentage can vary by cruise, so talk to your
travel agent or call our Customer Contact Centre
on 0843 374 0111 for the reduction amount of
a specific cruise. This does not apply to BE grade
Suites on Azura and Ventura, which are based on
four full paying adult passengers. Only a limited
number of cabins will be available for additional
occupancy, once this number has been reached,
additional occupancy will still be possible but at
a higher price or reduced level of saving.
Consecutive cruises
Take two or more consecutive cruises to enjoy
an extended holiday and we will give you a
10% reduction on the combined adult price.
This saving does not apply to 7 night
Mediterranean fly-cruises or if one, or both, of
the cruises are of 4 nights or less in duration.
Group benefits
For details of special arrangements we can
provide for groups of all types – from clubs
and associations to corporate incentives and
conferences – talk to your travel agent or call us
for more information.

Dress codes
Just as every day brings something a little
different so too does every evening, and to set
the mood the dress code changes from night
to night. Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana operate
three styles of dress codes: Smart, Evening
Casual and Black Tie. Azura, Britannia, Oceana
and Ventura are a little less formal with two
dress codes: Evening Casual and Black Tie.
We’ve provided a description of each below.
Smart, jacket required
Applicable to Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana.
On Smart evenings ladies typically wear tailored
trousers and separates or even a stylish dress,
while men are in a shirt and trousers with a
jacket, such as a blazer or sports jacket, or a suit
and tie if they wish. For a typical two week cruise
there are normally four Smart evenings.
Evening Casual
Applicable to all ships.
Stylish resort or leisurewear is ideal for Evening
Casual nights, for example casual separates or
dresses for ladies and open-neck polo shirts and
casual trousers (not shorts) for men. A jacket
and smart trousers can be worn but are not
compulsory. Smart dark denim is also fine, but not
trainers, football shirts or tracksuits. For a typical
two week cruise on Azura, Britannia, Oceana or
Ventura there are normally ten Evening Casual
nights. On Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana there are
normally six Evening Casual nights.
Black Tie
Applicable to all ships.
Black Tie nights (also known as Gala Evenings)
foster a rather special atmosphere on board,
adding a touch of glamour and a real sense of
occasion to evenings at sea. Seeing an entire
ship full of people transformed into their finery
is quite something to behold. Ladies wear
glamorous evening wear including cocktail
dresses, ball gowns or even smart trouser suits.
For men, dinner jackets or tuxedos are the norm,
but a dark lounge or business suit and tie can be
worn as an alternative. You can also wear formal
national dress. Attire for Black Tie nights can be
purchased on board (limited availability). For a
typical two week cruise there are normally four
Black Tie evenings on board (Black Tie nights
tend to be on sea days. For cruises over 7 nights
there will be a black and white themed ball.
When it is very hot, the number of Black Tie
nights may be reduced).
We apply the dress codes in the majority of
restaurants and bars for passengers aged 18
and over. Appropriate attire is essential for entry
to the ship’s bars and restaurants. Your holiday
itinerary, found on your Cruise Personaliser, will
detail how many of each night you can expect on
board. This information can also be found in your
pre cruise pack.
Please note: We’re simplifying the dress code on
Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana so that all ships within
the P&O Cruises fleet have the same two dress
codes: Black Tie and Evening Casual. We hope
this change will help make your packing a little
easier and give you a great blend of formal night
glamour and laid-back style on your holiday.
These changes will come into effect from the
dates below:
J602 - 5 May 2016
R602 - 26 April 2016
