A-Z of cruising
187
In order to keep membership of the Baltic and
Ligurian tiers exclusive, membership is only ever
granted on a ‘cruise by cruise’ basis. So when
you become a member of one of these tiers, in
order to remain so for your next cruise, you must
have spent at least 80 or 201 nights on board
over the three year period prior to that cruise. If
you do not maintain this level of cruising you will
resume Caribbean tier status and its associated
benefits. Of course, membership to the Baltic
or Ligurian tier will be reinstated as soon as you
regain the specified number of nights on board.
Please note that members will only receive
P&O Cruises Peninsular Club benefits during
a P&O Cruises holiday. Please refer to
pocruises.com/peninsularclub for further details.
Peninsular Club cruises
We are delighted to offer members of our
loyalty club, The Peninsular Club, an additional
5% saving on selected cruises which are
highlighted in this brochure. The 5% saving
is only combinable with Select Price holidays,
and is applicable to the first two passengers
in a cabin.
If you’re a member of the P&O Cruises Peninsular
Club then you can also benefit from discounts
on selected purchases made before you travel
via your Cruise Personaliser (the saving will be
shown in your shopping basket), as well as on
purchases made on board.
Single travellers
Events
On cruises when there are significant numbers
of single travellers and dependent on cruise
duration, the on board Entertainment team may
arrange dedicated events for single travellers,
such as get-togethers or informal coffee
mornings.
Cabins
For details of single occupancy options see
‘Cabins’ section.
Smoking policy
For the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all of
our passengers, and in view of the UK legislation
banning smoking in public spaces, we have
reviewed and amended our policy on smoking
on board our ships. For all holidays featured in
this brochure, smoking is not permitted in cabins,
on cabin balconies or in public rooms, but will be
permitted in designated areas of the open deck.
Electronic cigarettes which do not emit smoke
are not permitted in public areas but they can be
consumed in cabins and their balconies.
Spa packages

Tips
Our crew pride themselves on the service they
provide to our customers and we know you will
see this every day while you are on board with us.
As such we add a discretionary daily amount per
passenger aged 12 and over to your on board
account. The amount of the tip will be confirmed
in your holiday information booklet which can be
accessed through Cruise Personaliser.
100% of your tip is distributed to the staff who
will have served you in the main restaurant
(waiter, assistant waiter and head waiter) and
also to your cabin stewards or butler, who will
have looked after you whilst you are with us.
This amount is distributed through our tipping
pool; of which administrational costs are all
covered by P&O Cruises.
This charge is discretionary and we believe it
represents a fair amount, remaining one of
the lowest within the hospitality industry. We
strongly believe this should remain voluntary
and therefore this charge can be varied at the
Reception desk at any time; we hope you will
agree that the service you receive will warrant
the suggested amount and that you will chose
for this to remain on your account in recognition
of our service. Of course if you want to tip any
other crew member in addition to this, please
feel free to do so.
Vaccinations
Vaccination requirements vary by destination
and change from time to time. It is your
responsibility to have with you any necessary
health certificates. At the time of going to
press, there are no compulsory vaccinations
for these cruises.
We recommend that you seek advice from your
medical practitioner or travel medicine clinic, at
least six weeks before your cruise, to discuss your
personal travel plans and obtain appropriate
advice and vaccinations prior to travel. Seasonal
influenza vaccination is recommended for all
passengers. Alternatively you can obtain the
Department of Health’s ‘Health Advice for
Travellers’ leaflet from your local Post Office
or travel agent. You will also find further travel
health advice on the NaTHNaC UK government
funded website at
